The feeling of the horrible!
    #3686114 - 01/26/05 10:14 PM (19 years, 2 months ago)

Does anyone ever have that feeling that you've done everything wrong and thinking that there is a 0 percent chance of actually making it past fruiting? Ahhh!

What did you do? Or are you saying you just have the feeling?

Sure, many of us never made it to the fruiting stages with our first few attempts. That's when you learn where you went wrong, correct it on your next run, and eventually find yourself at the finish line with fruits.

If you build it...they will come.

none of us will post our every success, but people like to get input on things that went wrong, hence there are more horror stories on here then minor successes

Your straight dude. All these rules are basically for a fool proof grow. After a while you will realize a lot of the steps can be bent orcompletely removed. Just relax and if you fail, youll learn from your mistakes. Good luck

I think alot of people feel that way before they succeed.

The most important thing to do is...read and follow instructions to a "T" for success.

The 2nd most important thing to do is...be anal about doing it the same way that worked for you the first time.

You'll be fine...remember to breathe now and then.

Good luck!~

My biggest worry is I've never tripped before, and that's the whole reason I got into this to begin with, it's pretty much the only way I'm gonna be able to trip. So, if I manage to screw up and lose all my jars, that sets my tripping schedule a few weeks back...

--------------------
Excerpt from one of my textbooks:
Therefore, between a then and its matching else, there cannot be an if statement without an else. Statements must be distinguished between those that are matched and those that are unmatched, where unmatched statements are else-less ifs and all other statements are matched.
I wonder if that would make more sense if I was tripping when I read it.

The only way to learn is by doing.  If you keep good track of your successes as well as your failures, you will learn.  Take notes if that helps.  You can do it!

Roadkill: thanks for the offer man, hope I won't need it though. I was getting worried, because yesterday I had no growth (6 days after inoculation.) But, finally, today I've got 5 jars with small spots of mycelium growing, and no signs of contams in any of the jars yet! Finally, I can stop worrying about whether or not the syringe was good or not, and whether I somehow messed up.

Like someone said in here...the steps are ment for non failur. After awhile you'll begin to realize that afew steps can be missed without harm. this hobby is pretty easy man. Sit back and relax with a book, or anything for that matter. Something to get your mind away from the time...it's a bitch

I keep a book of everything I do, All my failures, all my procedures and all of my successes. Only thing to do is learn from it and do better, i think you'll do fine, just read up on everything and do what you can

incubate ur jars upside down witht he holes open.itll insure they never stall. oh, the holes hav to be open. if u stack ball jars, all but the bottom should be able to hav the holes exposed. u can cut a tyvek envelope the shape of the lid. then just put lid, tyvek, band
