Inside of freezer before removing 8 screws

After removing 8 screws.

Ileft the fan took everything else out.Plugged all the holes with silicone.Hooked up new power wires to fan.To much of a pain to figure out existing wires.

Had to soldier a wire back.Broke during removal.

The lower box.Got other shelves from repair shop $2.00 each. Will clean and paint(soon)

This is the part that holds controls and light. Got rid of controls and left light.Used existing wiring. This was easy to figure out.

Also found fruit fly eggs in it.Really looked clean when I got it.
Damn sure is now. Sprayed it down with 25% bleach/75% water.

Got the fan and light working. All nice and clean.
Next the water bed heater.

This is the heat machine.$80 F***ing dollars and 100 mile round trip.

Before I install.Give me some feedback.Back in a bit.

Had to drill a 1in hole to get the plug in connector's through the wall.Plugged hole with silicone. Will let sit over night. Also will install a timer.

Got it in use.82F down/ 78F up.Fan does not seem to help any.May need to drill more vent holes for heat to rise through. Also going to get sealed container to hold water on water bed heater.
Will let it a few more weeks and see how it goes.

i wouldnt worry about the heat. if its inside the temp should be ok for colonizing and fruiting. what about humidity?

No need for humidity.Thats all in the bags and jars. Will only use as incubator.Should hold about 90 lb's of wbs on those shelves.Top will incubate casings. Also will use old 45 gal TnT for casings.Want to grow enough Oyster for me and a couple of friends.

Slate, use slate instead of water. That will also help to make a constant temprature.

If you must add air circulation. You want a PVC pipe that goes from the bottom, to the top. The fan should push the already warmed air that rose up... back down. Otherwise you will have 100F upstairs, 90F on your top rack, 80F in the middle, and 70F on the bottom. (Exaggerated, but easy to see with physical thermomiters.)

I would personally reccomend that you turn only the freezer part into an incubation chamber, while the lower half stays as a fruiting chamber. The light in the fruiting chamber will create enough heat to rise and fill the incubation chamber for the 6-10 hours that it will be on, then the heater will keep heat when the lights go out.

If you cut a 6 inch hole connecting the fridge and freezer area, and use thin black plastic to cover it, you will easily let the heat rise through without leting light interupt your incubation chamber.

P.S. My incubation chamber is above my oven, in the cabinets. (My oven provides heat, being in the upper part of my house makes it 80F, the internal heaters raise it from 80F to 84F.

EG, it is 80F on my ceiling, 75F at chest level, 70F near the floor.
