Selling Stuff on eBay

Does anyone do this?
I'm strapped for cash right now and I figured maybe this would be a good way to raise a little extra. I just listed a couple of my textbooks from last semester on half.com, and my roommate and I were thinking of going to thrift stores to look for things we could possibly sell.
So, I'm just wondering what kinda stuff would be good to look for.. if you have experience with this or any helpful ideas, I'd appreciate it!

Ebay is great but I've gotten away from it mostly due to the shipping hastles. Unless you live right next to the USPS store or UPS store, be prepared to do alot of driving to ship out little packages here and there. If you sell enough and have alot of things to move, you could open up a shipper account from your home with FedEx or UPS, but you still need boxes, supplies, etc.. Like I said it's a great system but I eventually lost my interest due to the shipping fiasco. What books do you have? List them or PM me, I'm always buying college books.

I listed: Student Atlas of World Politics, Sixth Ed., Anthropology: The Human Challenge; 11th Ed., and The Essential World History: Volume Two (Since 1500).
My friend also listed the Supersize Me DVD and an old school 8-bit nintendo with a couple games..
Used CD's you say huh? I have quite a few of those laying around.. and a couple DVD's I could stand to part with. Maybe a videogame or two, too!
I'd really like to know what kinda stuff would be good to pick up at thrift stores.. I think my roommate knows a little about this too, his parents have their own little ebay business.

I don't know if you can buy thrift items cheap enough to make any real profit. I have sold a few items salvaged from demolition job sites{architectural stuff, old hinges,hardware,2 old phone booths[250. each] } You might be better off looking in your attic or basement...GI Joes with accessories=100 to 300 US$,old toys, especially with original box are collectable.Search Ebay to see whats being looked at and bought. Please bid on this... vintage hardhat

I've been thinking about doing the same thing. I have several textbooks that the bookstore won't by back because of new editions. The damn schools must be getting kickbacks from the publishers. I really doubt there have been that many changes in organic chemistry to warrant a new edition already. The book I have is from 2003 and cost me $125! I'm worried it might be too far into the semester though for selling books.
If anyone is interested though, I have: Organic Chemistry, L.G. Wade, fifth edition Concepts of Genetics, Klug & Cummings, seventh edition Intro to Java Programming, Y. Daniel Liang, fourth edition

Yeah, I've found some cool records at thrift stores myself - Devo, Sex Pistols, Ramones.. stuff I could probably make a few bucks off of. Too bad I gave those records away (I didn't need cash then)!

Yeah, I end up buying something off of ebay every couple of weeks. Try the market place here, I use that quite a bit as well.
