Lol, you've actually got this stuff? Well, be sure to tell us how it is if/when you try it. And if you've got any seeds I'd be glad to send you a print or two for some :-D

I`ve been interested in this plant for sometime. I`m afraid I cant offer you anything about it that you wouldnt know. By the way, I`d be extremely careful with this plant, it`s said the LSA is no the only alkaloid present.

FOSS1l:
These seeds are readily available at a couple different ethno suppliers, if you have no luck tracking them down PM me.

I have heard that stipa robusta does not produce LSA in cultivation. If you do a literature search, there is some kind of fungus that grows on it which produces the alkaloids. From what I read, only stipa robusta from lincoln county new mexico has these alkaloids. It is possible that you could "infect" the grass if you have some uncleaned seadpods which might contain some of the fungus.

The fungus is easy to isolate but putting it back in could be much harder
plants i grew a few years back floweerd and gave a heap of seed which was inactive up to 50 seeds
Try ipomoea muelleri or if your really game
figure out a way to consume claviceps paspali safely
theres buckets of it round here
(for starters its got heaps less toxins than C purpurea anyway)

I believe the name of the fungus is Acremonium...aparently it infects something like 90 percent of the grass frown in the wild.

I`d be careful, as is seen in ergot, fungus that contains LSAs might not be safe....of course I have nothing to back this up but...

Well I would imagine anything that wouldnt be too healthy would come out in the extract as well...but as I`ve said I dont know if there even is anything harmful in it. I`ve never even heard of anyone consuming this plant but I hear in can render a horse unconsious for days...god only knows how much a significant dose would be.

Tread with caution my friend...

Don't bother with sleepy grass.

the fungus acremonium spp. is a symbiotic fungus with stipa robusta - even in proper lab trials they only got it to live something like 20 days out of the plant as an isolate before all the cultures terminated themselves.
