Drying w/o a fan

I don't have a fan. I went to walmart, they said they're out of season and they won't get any fans in for 2 weeks. My shrooms will probably be harvested in 5-7 days. I have damprid and 2 aquarium air pumps. Should I just set up the shrooms in a drying chamber with the pumps pumping air through, or can I just leave the shrooms out and they'll dry anyway?

Just let them sit on one of those letter seperator trays(MESHED METAL) for 2 days , then pop into the dry chamber with damp rid and all will be fine . Fan is not a requirement IMHO . They dry plenty fast in a room with rh of 52% (comfort factor in most homes ) then once in chamber with desiccant , they will be plenty dried .

You can pick up a good used food dehydrator at a 2nd hand store...cheap.
If you have some 2nd hand stores in your area...that is.
Some look like they were never used. :smile:

Good model to look for is the...American Harvest Snackmaster.
They have a temp setting feature...that can be set really low on this model.
So there are no worries about any potency loss to the mushroom friends. :smile:

I picked up several...for around $5.99 each.

So check around.

Thats an awfull lot of time for oxydization to damage the yummies IMHO .
But hay do what you gotta do .
