How much gypsum to use per half pint?
    #3682530 - 01/26/05 10:16 AM (19 years, 2 months ago)

I have some gypsum, and now some rye berries. I was wondering how much gypsum I should put in. A teaspoon? tablespoon?

None

Don't use 1/2 pint jars for doing Rye berries.

Use Pint or Quart size jars.

Rye berry recipe

QUART jar:
250 ml rye berries
210 ml water
1 gram gypsum (optional)

PINT jar:
125 ml rye
105 ml water
1 knife tip full of gypsum (optional)

Good luck!~

Damn! That means I'll have more jars to have to hide :frown:

I should have started out with pint jars, instead of half pints.

Thx for the correct ratios.
Also, since a pint is half of a quart, why not just say .5 g, since a knife tip can mean lots of different amounts.

I assume half pint mason jars are recycleable?

Thats a lot of jars.
Why so many?

http://www.mycosupply.com does custom made autoclavable bags.  If I were you I'd get the biggest pressure cooker I could find and then measure the correct dimensions and send it in.  :mushroom2:  :crazy2:
