Argh!
    #3682144 - 01/26/05 09:23 AM (13 years, 9 months ago)

I do not understand what I am doing wrong. I have two terrariums in TnTs. They arent rubbermaids, just plastic tubs with lids. One T is around 75 degrees and the other is around 80. I am using perlite humidification. I give them 12 hours of light a day. I have about 9-11 cakes in each. Most of the have been dunked and rolled. They have been in there for a good two weeks, probably more. I fan them 4 times a day.
The problems: Only about 4 cakes have given me anything. Most of them have dried up. It seems really humid in there. My cheap meter reads 90, there is heavy dropplet coverage on the walls and lid. The lid rain everytime i take it off. I just think I don't have the perlite working right. In one T i soaked down a goo inch and a half, layed it in, and covered it with dry perlite. In the other i put in a 2 inches the poured water into a divit so as not to get the top wet. But it seems to have dried up too and all the water is in the air. I am at my wits end! I am doing everthing right, please help.

with that much condensation it sounds like the RH is well above 90, be patient and
watch for signs of contamination, on the cakes that look dried out, try scratching
the surface with a fork to expose fresh mycelium
