spore death temp?

Does anyone know at what temp spores die? I had my jars in a pot being sterilized for about 45 minutes, and then let them cool outside (50 degree weather) for about half an hour....i inoculate and i think the spores have died?

That would be awesome to breed a mushroom strain in which its spores can survive sterilization. Wonder if that possible?

106 degrees F.
Why didn't you wait longer?
You should have waited at least 5 hours.
There is no doubt that you killed the spores.

106F. will kill myc not spores. Thermo death limits for cubie spores are around 50C. (122F.)

I was making a syrenge a couple of weeks ago and for whatever reason (lazy, high) didn't wait for the sterilized water to cool down. The syrenge was pretty warm to the touch, defenatly above 106, and most likely above 120 F. Anyway I inooculated a bunch of jars and they're colonizing like champions right now. If people suggest soaking your grains to germinate endospores that otherwise might be able to survive the pressure cooker, I'm sure a little warm water won't kill your spores.

I'm just giving you the facts mushroom spores can tolerate up to and slighty above the temps I mentioned. You guys need to bring something to the table besides impatience otherwise your in the wrong hobby! Lets not follow certain paths that will eventually lead to disappointment and failure please if not for yourselves then do it for these great little gifts of nature which I like to call my friends.

I'd waited nearly a week after getting all my supplies to sterilize/inoculate so i did it all within a short period of time. Today has been the 4th day the jars have been in my incuabator, and i checked a few minutes ago and they show no mold I just sterilized 2 syringes and a shot glass for innocualtion later today.
Can I use dawn instead of jet dry as a spore suspension agent? thx

If you have your syringe ready I wont add any "agents" at all.
just shake the hell out of it before inoc.

hmm well with my first syringes i wasn't able to suck up all the spores from the shot glass, and i often hear of ppl using jet dry to keep spores from clumping in the syringe. hmm...maybe i'll just shake like a mofo.

Ofcourse if you make own sporewater you CAN add "agents". But i say keep it simple. With half a print in a 10cc syringe (since you have enough prints) there will be so many spores no "agent" is needed. Even if you make 50CC sporeater from a print there are so many many spores... Vendors make 10 or 15 syringes from a print and I doubt even if then "agents" are needed.
Just a mighty highty shake!
If you cant fill the syringe compleyetly cause the needle is too short, make sure to add some more water next time. There will be enough spores in the syringe!

thx guys 14 jars just inoculated....although i'm kinda worried about the length of my needle. It was pretty short...but i think it got through my verm layer on top. haha well i have one jar without a lid (just used foil) and that one definetly got down to the substrate, lol. well i guess i'll find out in a few days or so, updates soon

The cakes I did where all without lid, only used foil with 4 holes. If you applied a good verm layer you should be fine.
The holes I make with the syringe needle. Wipe needle with alcohol, make holes, burn needle wipe again and inoculate!
The first week I put another layer of alufoil loosely over the other one. So no green mold falls in!

Oyster mycelium's thermal death is above 104*F for 48 hours, so I would imagine cubes can last for several hours, if not days at high temps. I would pry die after 2 days at 104 degrees too
