that baseball bat comment was a reference to a song... (primus - my name is mud)
as for amnesia, no way... its been said that mj effects short term memory but this is propaganda. the suggestion is that it is a medical condition but that bs. its simply a result of the weed undermining your ability to concentrate on things that dont interest you. its not a permenent situation. if u quit smoking it will start to get better again... and long term memory loss is something iver never ever herd of aside from people passing out... im a smoker amoungst smokers in a smokers country and if such a thing was possible i cant imagine i wouldent have herd about it. moreover it would most definetly be exploited to the full extent by a number of politicians who are very intent on making weed illegal here again...
as for the lsd lacing that came from a guy who said he did that... he didnt seem to think much of it either... (never underestimate stupidity)

Marijauna *does* effect short term memory - this is not propaganda, this is just one of its effects. This doesn't mean that it is drastic nor that it happens all the time to everyone - just that it does. There are parts of my hard marijauna trip that I don't fully remember... You haven't, obviously, experienced it, yet. I believe this is called meme cultivation where you're describing YOUR experiences as MY experiences, if that makes sense - I may be using it wrong here.
To go back to NeanderthalMan's comment that I am simply "assuming"... mayhap, but I am basing my assumption on the description of his experience and relating it to my own experiences and experiences of others I have talked to, as well as scientific/research related experiences and such.
I think we've about beaten this to death now

Weed DOES NOT affect short-term memory. I mean one time I was out with some friends of mine and we... uh... well, I forget...

sure it does, you ever get real stoned and walk into a room and forget why your went to that room?

Yeah, I couldn't be bothered to think of a long-term memory thing. And weed does indeed cheese-hole your short-term memory, just not many people understand the difference between short-term and long-term memory. You'll only forget small details or impuses while on the bud whereas booze can make you forget an entire night to the point where you wake up.

Fine, if you won't believe me an' blaney, maybe you'll believe Fire of Erowid.
Ask Erowid - "Does marijuana make you hallucinate even if it isn't laced with anything?"
Quote:
A: Cannabis is rarely laced with anything. The main signs to look for if you suspect adulterants would be odd taste or smell, or a dramatic change in the duration of effects. As with most psychoactive drugs, cannabis can cause a wide variety of reactions in different people and at different times. There is also a broad range of potency and types of cannabis, which will cause different types of effects.
People definitely experience strong visual and mental effects with cannabis, rivaling anything one could experience with other psychedelics like LSD or mushrooms. Of course, most commonly the effects are not this strong. If you find yourself experiencing undesireably strong effects from smoking cannabis (you might be a person with a high sensitivity), you might want to try lowering your dosage.

Sounds like you just got some FIRE weed.
I have had some weed in Holland that would do you that way, visuals and all. Like a mild shroom high.
If your not carefull and smoke lots of it (like you did) then it would be EASY to blackout and not remember what happened.

Yeah, I really don't see what all the confusion is about.
Pot has been proven to affect short-term memory, give visual hallucinations, give auditory and other hallucinations, give you dry-mouth, make you hungry, etc.
Gdman gave a good example of short-term memory loss. There are absolutely no holes in your brain, just lapses of memory. Things become much easier to forget.
It's just weed ladies and gentlemen...

Man, what is so hard about this..?
YES it sounds like marijauna to me. Marijauna relieves nausea for some people - it also causes nausea in some people. It also sounds like he was trippin' and you may say some weird things when tripping like, "my stomach is broken". Maybe he had really bad munchies and while tripping that was the only way he could get it out?
QUIT meme cultivating.

And I have experienced losing touch with reality like that as well as heard of people doing it, this is yet another case - and now you have heard of it . It's been scrutinized and scrutinized - I am simply baffled, is all. I don't care so much about being right, though I will say I do believe I am right in this case. What I do care about is passing around misinformation and such... We can discuss this all you want, but as I said, I am simply baffled that you still think it was adulterated - at least you haven't yet conceded that perhaps it wasn't; especially considering that I brought in the big guns of erowid to support .

Nah, i'm now pretty sure it was just pot. I didn't COMPLETELY forget what happened after the onset of CEV's etc, it's just quite hazy. The most I remember is seeing things sag is if starting to melt, feeling that I had reached a state of higher reality, a new level. Kinda like discovering the answer to "everything", but I had no idea what it was . As for LSD laced... Haha. No. LSD is a very unstable molecule... It decomposes (slowly) from sunlight and air! Apply a flame to it and its long gone. And WOW, this thread got much bigger than I thought it would! EDIT: I thought I should also mention I have a very high sensitivity to all psychoactives. So perhaps this is why. I think delta9's explanation is correct (the THCV) - it looked like normal pot, smelt like it and tasted like it. Pretty crazy experience though! Still feel great, better than I have done in the past ANYTIME .
