time yet?

Saturday morning, I cased 4 1 pint jars in 2 6X12 sterlite containers with vermiculite above and below. Now, I am seeing little white splotches here and there poking through. Time to drop the temp and take the covers off, or should I wait? This is probably an ignorant question, but this is my first time. Thanks

Why wait? Patience is over-rated, earthling fool. Harvest the whole crop now! Eat the vermiculite!

Should I prepare the vermiculite any particular way? Does anyone else have any info on this? I have never heard it before.

Abe, I usually cover these first few splotches of mycelia with moist vermiculite and then wait for the mycelia to show more evenly before birthing. If your using clear containers, you'll want to duct tape the sides. This will keep the pins from growing upsidedown and sideways.

you should wait until the majority of the surface is covered before you start the pinning.
