If a cube is a cube is a cube. Then an amazon is a cube and an ecuador is a cube so an amazon is an ecuador?

You won't notice much difference between strains, and it's not consistent with the names. More info here: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/10560039

Generally the name on the print wont define the characteristics of the mushrooms being grown, with an exception of PE's and the redboy or any other rust colored spore strains.
When it comes down to it its the massive array of genetics that are jam packed in one syringe that will make up your grow, if you want to have a solid "super strain" then look into isolation.
if you use spore syringes which are multispore(MS) then you will never know what to expect since its a HUGE genitical crap shoot

Yea, at least some good information has been spread, maybe it will help cut down on the "what strain should I pick" topics

Cubes are cubes, just as humans are humans, and all are different unless you have an isolated strain or clone. All humans named 'Smith' do not act and look alike, nor do all mushrooms grown from a multispore inoculation of a given name look or perform alike. RR

I'm not bitching, I just truly did not see that it was a 5 year old thread when I first posted and on top of that did give advise on the matter

I always thought it was funny that a cube is a cube, except for PE, which is supposedly a bit different not only in appearance but potency as well. I wonder what makes PE so special? Surely since PE is a cubensis, other cubensis "races" may also have some significant differences? Granted, I've never grown PE myself yet, but it seems to retain its characteristics from MS inoculations even though MS is apparently random in creating sub-"races"?
So am I right in assuming that although MS inoculations are "random" it's not completely random? There is a higher probability of having similar traits to a previous batch?

This thread has been closed.
Reason: It's gone on long enough. If 'strain' was half as important as other growing factors, we wouldn't have banished their discussion to the mostly un-moderated sticky thread at the top of the page. RR
