Boiling instead of PC'ing
    #3673408 - 01/24/05 07:14 PM (13 years, 9 months ago)

What would be best to use as a cake to stay away from contams? I would be boiling instead of pressure cooking. I was planning on using wild bird seed but I just read the only way to really sterilize it is with a pressure cooker...

Thanks for the help

Just follow the PF Tek. I know that it can be done without PC.

Stay away from grains if boiling is your only method of sterilizing. BRF cakes, made via the PF Tek, many people report great success just boiling these for an hour.

PF tek in the FAQ, its brown rice flour and vermiculite, it's simple and doesnt require anything more than a pot and a lid
