Favorite visuals?
    #3673250 - 01/24/05 04:21 PM (19 years, 2 months ago)

This really isn't a trip tip but more of a conversation piece? What is your favorite type of OEV when you're tripping? i.e., objects melting, distortions, halos, visual shifts, geometrical patterns? I think for me it's pixel vision. It doesn't always happen to me on a trip, but every now and then I'll get it and I'm just amazed at how the world looks. It's just totally bizzare how the mind can recreate what you're seeing into billions of little squares.

Cubensis + Dark Room + Gta: San Andreas + Lava Lamp + Wall = Kaledioscope x500-and-ten.

^true story.

i like kaledioscope like patterns and shit(i get those every time i dose).. as morbid as this sounds, i like to get amp'd on death metal whilst tripping and then piss my pants when i watch my buddy's face melt.

yeah. i'm core like dat.

I've only been able to go to Mushroom World four times, so my coolest visual in that time was EITHER:

(A) Looking up into the trees ALL the limbs were super long and very wavy.

(B) My ceiling, which was morphing into shapes and sections and had various colors spinning around on it (despite the fact that it's white)

I like it when you see a picture of yourself and then that picture multiplies and there are one hundred of them in front of you and then there are a million and so on into infinity, like looking at thousands of television screens together.

One of the coolest things I ever seen was looking through the mesh of my trucker hat. I was outside and looked through the mesh up at the sky, and instantly my view was that of a fly! I had a million lenses, and the world looked amazing! It would be awesome if someone tried this as well, to see if they get the same sort of effects or if it was just me tripping at the time. It was incredible though, and definitely my favorite

Yeah I agree, I seem to encounter this right after 15 mins of pixel vision. The pixels mesh together to form a mosaic.

This is an inane thread.

Nevertheless, although it isn't exactly my favourite visual (rather, most transmundane) I would have to say it was when I took 600 mg of dextromethorphan and had episodes where I would focus on something foveally and perceive it as being 2D whereas my greater vision was still in 3D. If I could compare it to anything, it would be like a real life Punch and Judy show. Very weird to say the least.

Leafy trees when the wind is blowing make really cool looking kaleidoscope patterns. But my favourite type of hallucination is when an object turns into something alive. Once a tree turned into a chick on 4 grams of some potent mushies.

I think the best kind of visuals are CEV's just becuase it can get a whole crazier when its in your head. With the eyes open though is pretty interesting, its neat to see things you usually see everyday in a whole new way, or to see them morph and bend or melt together, and change colors. Incredible. God I love mushrooms.

I have a few favorite visuals

I like when their are complete surrouding changes and you believe the place your is at looks totally different, sometimes cartoony as a previous poster said. I had my whole house look like a ginger bread house, that was pretty damn cool. I was running around screaming, omfg, im in a gingerbread house!!! That was one fun night.

I also like when i close my eyes and am instantly transported into a world of space, which can achieve any form of space you kind of want. I loved the time i was the fighter in the old school asteroids game.

I also love when things turn different colors or when things seem a lot bigger, or when you feel like your 50 feet tall in a 75 foot high room.

visuals are a great addition to tripping.

CEVs are pretty cool, cause everthing you see is your imagination. The last time I closed my eyes on shrooms I saw a monster's face with huge teeth, twas pretty cool.

Another cool hallucination is when you look in the mirror.

Another one of my favorites is when you're staring at something... it could be anything really, like your hand or a tree or TV... but whatever you're staring at transforms itself into gemotric shapes. Like on one trip I was having a coversation with a friend and as I was watching him talk, his face slowly became a mosaic of geometric shapes. it was like I was seeing his face in the most basic form... a complilation of thousands of shapes.

when i close my eyes and see the cleanest blackest vision. like staring into a blackhole. accompanied by music. let your imagination take the reins. it feels like your being sucked in and spit out the other side. like falling through your shadow.

pixel vision hands down. i like the feeling of walking through a videogame. the most intense ive ever had...i was looking at my friends entertainment center, and everything was melting in pixelvision...and switching positions all at the same time. another time we went hiking and came across this huge ant hill that was teeming with ants...it looks like red blood cells going through a capillary....we stared at it for quite some time.

hehe i remember lawn mower man.

to me the greatest visuals are the amazing geometric patterns and the morhping objects and breathing walls together with the smeared colour bleeding outlines continuing out into infinity in amazing fractal patterns + colourshifts and auras around objects and not knowing if your eyes are opened or closed as you get lost in the visions.

:P hehe or 'all of the above' in yer list.

I don't get a lot of OEV's, in fact I've only had them really strongly once...

My favourite things to look at while I'm tripping, though are:

A math video that I stole from my dad called (hehe) Nothing But Zooms. It's from 1987, using (at the time) state of the are sumpercomputers to explore the Mandelbrot Set fractals. It's really wild, it just keeps zooming in (hence the name) onto the set, which has infinite recursions of itself, only problem is it's only half an hour long, but it's great. You can think about all kinds of things while you watch it (I have a projector, so it's about 8 feet tall on my wall!).

The other is a laserdisc called Visual Music: Space Dreaming that's motion paintings first of stars and stuff, then it starts getting all crazy. Very cool, but again, only about half an hour long.

Both of the above have their own music tracks, but I turn them down and pump some Floyd or Lewis Taylor over it...

"We dont deliberately try and make everything come out like that [space oriented]. It just works out that things happen that way. We all read science fiction and groove to '2001'; its all very good. But some of our things happen completely accidentally."

a friend of mine is an awesome painter...and its so awesome watching him paint while tripping. one time him and i and our other friend (its usually just us 3 that trip most of the time) painted this big red stripe on his canvas...and the strip spanned the entire basement until it looked like a big red river flowing with life. quite an experience.
