stopping time
    #3673176 - 01/24/05 06:01 PM (12 years, 2 days ago)

i recently tripped with my boyfriend in our home, a safe environment. we had an amazing and enlightening experience. however, at one point he seemed to freeze in time. his head was thrown back in laughter and i watched him as he stopped. frozen. i waited for him to move and tried to be "rational" but he remained in that position. the music had stopped and all was still and quiet. i thought i had completely lost my mind. i remember distinctly sitting up and feeling stuck in a moment in time. it seemed like about 5-10 seconds passed and then everything resumed. has this ever happened to anyone!!??

All of your perceptions are warped on psychedelics.

Time is just another perception. I'm sure it's happened to every tripper at one point or another.

I've never had a moment freeze on me, but I have had moments move in slow motion and other that moved in fast forwards. s2dope is right, it's just a warped perception.

I've experienced periods of non-existent time. No doubt. My last trip involved 2 hours that could have been minutes or days. When we came out of it, my brother was asking me whether it was night or morning. I had the same feeling. And we were only about 2 and a half hours into our trip. It was incredible.

The underpants gnomes are behind it all, stop hiding the truth.

You've never had time stop because you're the one doing the freezing... so you can steal our underpants.

Oh yeah....it happens to everyone. Pause, stop, rewind, fast forward, switch the channel.....yup, it's another one of the incredible phenomena that occur during psychedelic experiences. I've also experienced being outside of time. Welcome to the Shroomery!  :tongue2: :sun:

Time warp is one of the many amazing things to experience, and it's almost guaranteed you'll experience it on shrooms. I've never seen time freeze before, but that sounds amazing! Hopefully I can experience this at one point or another

I had it seem like it froze on me the first time I ever ate acid and the we hit some nitrous and I about thought I was gonna explode and time seemed to stand still for a few secs.
