Micron Magick Discs anygood?

Just started colonizing rye and have had probs. with contams. Do Micron Magick discs help keep out contams, and, will the specifically keep out that dirty little bastard green mold?

what were you using before, the original lids with holes?

I've never used micron magic filter discs, but... I always use filter sheets that are intended for heat vents in your house. You can buy 'em at wal-mart, k-mart, etc. (they've been used for amazonian cubes on brf cakes, and have had good success against contams). After I'm finished innoculating the jars, I've been dabbing a tad of silicone over the hole from the syringe -- a kind of variation from club99's honey tek where he uses filter discs in making mycelium-rich innoculate.
