When 2 peek on new casing

I just did my first casing: 2 1 pint jars per 6X12 encased in vermiculite. They are painted black, the tops are on, and they are in my terrarium at 85-88 degrees.
When should I first peek in to check progress? I know I need to wait until the casing is colonized to drop the temp and take the top off, and I don't want to sabotage myself by giving them light too soon but want to monitor so I can patch the first few white clouds showing.
Thanks

do you have any holes in the lid? make sure you do! you need to peek on them on every day. i usually use saran wrap and put them in a dark place. usually on the first day theres some mycelium poking up, so i have to put more verm on it, and on the second day there is nothing, then on the third day it starts popping up fast, and by the fourth i usually stick it in the terrarium. then, the mycelium starts growing more, and then on the third day in the terrarium it comes to a stop, and the next day i see little whit dots (very immature shrooms) popping up, and then the next day theres about 1 or two pins, and then i stop counting and more sprout up. i also give the casings light 24/7 for the first few days untill i see the pins.

I have fairly tight-fitting lids on them.
I didn't put any holes on them. According to the tek I read, I thought I should be depriving them of O2 until a week or so goes by. Please, someone, correct me if I am wrong about this.
I have them in the terrarium already so they have some heat.
I thought I was supposed to be depriving them of not only air, but light for at least a few days . . . are we talking about different teks or am I just off-base?
Thanks
Abe

yes, you need to put holes on the lid. just about ten or so. read this:
whats wrong with my casing?
that should help a little. what tek are you talking about? all you do is case, poke holes in lid, cover up "early splotches", then put it in the terrarium, and let it take its course, and if you got any questions about it course then you either read up on it, or post a question.

I read the tek- thanks for the link. However, I did not see where it said to put any holes in the lids. My lids don't fit super-tight, though, so I think it is getting a little air as it is.
I am using the shroom wizards tek. Since starting it, I have seen him take a few beatings here, but it seems to be working (for the 4 of the 10 original jars that have made it this far, that is) but I am planning on doing some things differently next time from what I have learned.

Yup, 4 out of 10.
I have taken it as a lesson in why that vermiculite seal is important. At least I started with a double batch, so the yield should still be OK.
