simple things...
    #3660290 - 01/21/05 06:50 PM (19 years, 2 months ago)

I just had to share this..

Every time I see people smile at each other..you know a simple, honest smile between strangers, I feel such joy, I feel there may yet be hope for humanity. Or an act of compassion, simple things like
sharing food or a drink, I've become so influenced by such simple things. It's eye candy to wach.

A honest smile for a stranger in a world where people literally dig out eyes to each other with a knife with such passion and hate.
Such simple honest things outshine every evil that I can see

It's wonderfull, love to everyone, love will save us all

IT sucks though when you try to be nice to a total stranger and all you get back is a concerned look.

It's just a matter of current trend (darvinism, selfishness, being a fool for being nice, etc.), those who are true to themselfs will answer you back the same joyfull way.

it is a great feeling though... i work at a fast food restaurant... sadly.... but i only see it in children, i like to smile at kids in the back seat, they seem to be elated at the fact that a total stranger smiled at them, they just look gleefull, its a nice feeling.

-I find this to be really interesting, in all experiences in my life, every person is seeking to be understood. Smiling is a sign of understanding or the desire to understand. When you smile at someone and it is not returned it's because of a schism(split in communication) what the schism is depends solely on the other person(receiver of the smile).
-Anyone see what I mean?

-By the way Tool's Schism goes along perfectly with this concept.

I work in an environment where I come into contact with people from all races, creeds, and convictions. While I could let personal prejudices get in the way, I choose to look at each person as an unique individual.

The thought that I have when interacting with them is that we both have something to learn from one another and that we CAN learn (whatever it is) if we simply recognize and respect our inherent "beingness".

Oftentimes, those who, on the outside, look the most unpleasant, are the ones who respond the greatest to a simple act of humanity (such as a genuine smile).

I realize that those who do not respond are simply not ready, and instead of taking it personally, I give them their space (and time), as they will eventually understand. The important thing is that in my own life, I am building a positive network of connections with both the people and places that I encounter, a network that I only intend to expand further and further. If we were all to do the same, our individual webs would eventually come into contact, something that I see as the only real hope for humanity.

Hate seems to be embedded in all of us. But where does hate really come from? Jealousy? School should teach patients.

hate is a learned behavior, i think, it is tought, i do not hate, i cant honestly say that i have true hatred for any one ar any thing, probably becuase my mom is a hippie and thats how i was raised, to be loving, but if you were raised by a klan leader, you would most likely hate niggers and jews.

- I would say that most of us work toward love by our action (which is more powerful to others than thought), in our consciousness,
-some of us, however, work toward hate by their action, more than they would by their thought since action is the affirmation of thought.

I would say that most of us SEEM to work toward love, when instead we are all frightened of public opinion and state punishment.
Others openly work for hate.
But there is just a small amount of people that really devote their life to honest positive doing.

We all have our little angel-moments, but they are short and rare
But they are worth preserving the human society.
