Mushroom mycelium starts out looking like fluffy white cotton. When it's getting ready to fruit it begins to form structures. They look like ropes, knobs, blobs, or protrusions. The structures will still be white, or very slightly brown. The "cotton" morphs into structured forms. That's what rhizomorphic means.
Welcome to the Shroomery. Stick around. It's rough getting started.

rhizomorph
n : a dense mass of hyphae forming a rootlike structure characteristic of many fungi
apparently rhizomorphic isn't a word, but rhizomorph is.. use common grammer sense and figure that out

Holy fuck! Speaking of wishing to have the power to ban people, I wish I had that same power, MycoJunkie. It's a good thing I don't though cuz I'd love to slap your happy ass with a perma-ban. I have never EVER seen such rudeness displayed to someone asking a question in all of my life. Here's a tip for ya, ALL, not 95%, but ALL of the questions asked here in this forum have been asked before in one fashion or another. So genius, if we all followed your logic, there would be no forum. Chill the fuck out, eh? And, if you can't take another "newb" question then head on over to Advanced Cultivation. That's what it's there for. This forum is here for the newbs who have questions about all things mycological.
Uggghhh, I'm done.

Holy shit.... Myco Junkie no offense but your a DICK!!! Like Beetle said this is the noob room and if everyone got jumped on for asking a good question what kind of community would we have?..........NONE! I have been doing mushies for awhile and still didnt know what Rhizomorphic was. I kinda didnt care but I saw THIS post and checked to see what the answer was. SO thank you Ticktock.
For future reference mycojunkie Im sure you asked plenty of seemingly stupid questions on here. Im almost willing to click your name and check some of the posts you have put up. So just chill out man! drink a beer!
Much love guys keep em comin.. =)

oh christ... the magick word dudes.... the magic word is "GLOSSARY"... there a whole friggin list of big words and their meanings in the very appropriate place called FAQ's..... heres a nice closeup of one of my jars...
notice it is spread out in strands and if i were to clean out the jar i suspect it would look alot like roots... also notice the bristle like pattern in the bottem left... does that count as rizomorphic?
