What is this stuff? PIX

My friends last two incubating jars were left in the dark for a very long time...1+ week longer than they were suppossed to.

What he thought was water condensation is actually a gel like substance...goopy and glassy...like the stuff that comes in a canned ham. anyone know what this is. the cake looks healthy besides this gel like outside.

You're fine. Just pat off the excess moisture with a clean paper towel and fruit those babies!
