As long as the casing was prepared with the proper moisture content, you dont need to mist if you can maintain the proper humidity.

Umm your question is a lil unclear but to whim an answer would be to say.... You need to mist casings because they dry pretty fast and they tend to separate from the case then shrivel up. I think hyphae has a good post about saturation. But basically you want to keep the case at a certain level of wetness and not SOAKED. Its a happy medium that your looking for and it takes practice. Its based on how big your case is and what substrate your using. as far as fanning if you have a bubbler and a pump then you might not have to fan as much as you think.

even at 99% you should be misting. The casing will dry out after some time. Once the surface is looking pretty colonized and you want pins to form..cut back misting alot untill pins form. This IME, helps kick it out of vegetative growth and into fruiting mode.

misting is for humidity in a perlitless tek but in casing misting is a saturation and mositure factor.
