Hey, I see that straw and dung are all the rage these days. My dad used dung and straw and the straw worked much better. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could refer me to a straw Tek or something along those lines? Also, please tell me what kind of store sells straw. Or, will I have to steal it? Also, what kind of sterilizing will it need?

Straw is wonderfull as long as you pasturize it properly it will work wonders for you. I sale straw on my site as well as dung and compost(we are low on compost right now.) They are in smaller quanities so you are not stuck with a big ass bail if you decide it is not for you. I have a straw tek that I can e-mail you if you pm me your e-mail I will send it to you

If you can't find straw in your area, or just don't want to buy it, you can use grass that has gone to seed. Just sit it in the sun to dry it out, pasteurize then use as you would straw, results are very similar. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=Forum2&Number=352566&Forum=Forum2&Words=grass&Match=Entire%20Phrase&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Old=3months&Main=352566

I find it hard to believe that straw would be hard to find anywhere, here it'd $3.50 for a huge bail at walmart, and $3 at most feed stores.

I don't think thats a wide spread wal-mart item. At least I've never seen them in any of the wal-marts in my city. Sure you could always find straw, but alot of times it would involve hours of driving to get to a feed store, or even a horse stable, i.e. city living. I know the nearest place for me to buy straw is almost an hour drive away.

Yea, I guess I've been living in hillbilly land for too long, for me feed stores are closer than the grocery stores, within an hours drive there's probably 5-10 feed stores, my girlfriend hates it :)
