QUick question on tek preferences

I have noticed that when I do a 50/50+ tek where I switch Peat Most with a manure compost (ZooDOO, Black Kow) I seem to get bigger mushrooms from the compost tek over the peat moss tek. Any thoughts

My tek mixture
1 part verm
1 part peat or compost
1/2 part Aquarium buffer. (Crushedlimestone rich in calcium)

The compost in the casing supplies more nutrients to the substrate then does peat moss. Thus the bigger shrooms.
