PINNING HELP
    #366329 - 08/03/01 01:53 PM (23 years, 1 month ago)

hello everyone, been awhile, but i am back.

last time i had them pinning in the jars, this time they werent, but i birthed them using standard perlite humid tek.

worked last time, started to grow immediately.

this time has been two days, no pins. Some condensation forming on cakes, so i know its good humid, even lots on plexiglass top. How long to wait for them?

when should they begin, and should i be doing anything else?
temp is right aroun 75, light coming in through top, fanning twice a day.

please suggest something.

only thing i did diff this time was spray a little lysol in the perlite before birthing. would that affect it?

thanks, brad

They should pin within 2 weeks. I doubt the lysol will harm them.

just dont ever sit the cakes directly on the perlite. You don't want the cake to take in the lysol when it goes for a drink of water.

Just make sure your cakes are getting adequate light to initiate pinhead formation. In a week, or a little longer, you should have pinheads.
