did this form out of no where?? or did it come with the cactus.??

looks like a scab from being cut, but it could also be a pathogen that forms a scab?. i did a google search and there are several rot/diseases that it could be.? if that's so it's most likely a over water/ air circulation problem.

Not to mention the stem looks like you've been watering it too much and not giving it enough light in the Winter months.

the bend was in it when i got it about 6 months ago, it was fatter on bottom and real skinny on top, all the fater part on top is the new growth that came in since i had it, i have only watered it one time in the past 2 months, do i need to not water it at all?

thanks for the help guys

edit: also, i keep it in a window seal. it gets the morning sunrise till about 11 or 12 am worth of light, i dont think i should leave it outside during the colder months, but i do keep it outside all spring, summer, and fall, is this ok.

also, i have a new kitten and she could have scratched it, could that be the reason for the scab, she just loves that cactus, even though it is pretty pitiful, but its what i ahve

could he not chop it off at the bend and root the top part in a new plant then straighten out the bottom part so it grows straight?

Just leave it for now, its not big enough to cut yet. If you can get it on a south facing window that would help a bit. It looks like a scrape or split scar so you should be alright. Dont water it till spring when you put it outside.
