Shroom hunting in the winter
    #3662438 - 01/22/05 11:13 AM (19 years, 1 month ago)

Here in Louisiana it still gets very warm in the winter. Today and yesterday it's been in the 80s. I couldn't find any shrooms though. I figure since there was a freeze recently it will take the shrooms time to come up again.

My question is, if it stays warm for another day or so will they grow (still waiting for a good rain), or do I have to wait until summer?

3. Do not ask if the current weather is "good for shrooms."

As a general rule of thumb, if it has rained within the last 2-3 days, and the temperatures are correct for the type of mushroom you're looking for, then *yes* it is possible that the mushroom you are looking for is growing.

locked.
