I listened to Digital Lust and Digital Joy. I liked them very much, you really know how to make a driving beat.

Your percussion is great, very unified, and a cool tone to everything. In 'Lust', IMO I thought it needed something driving or something to focus on other than the drums. There was a consistent bassline, but that's foundation, not lead. the porn samples were fuckin cool haha

Not every song has to have drums/bass/lead, I know... so it still works without it. From what I can tell, you know/can feel rhythm really well, and it shows. but not so much with harmony... The second 'voice' that enters in both songs don't solidify me in a harmony in the right way...
Sorry man, hard to describe.

I dig your style a lot, thanks for posting dude!

Digital Percalator has some very nice percussion parts in it. Very rhythmically driving and creative. Nice work

Well, the golden ratio is a number, much like Pi, but much more profound. It makes sense that mudvayne would name something that, since they think they are SO technical and made up some bullshit about math metal. There are no infringements on song names, only band names. I also might switch it to the Divine proportion, which is another name for the golden ratio, any thoughts?

I also put 4 more songs on there i think, or 3, cant remember. Check out the new ones and gimme some feedback.

I'm listening to "Decoherence" now. I like it.

I think you should go w/ Divine Proportion - it sounds way cooler than Golden Ratio.

"Golden" sounds like worldly success; "ratio" is a dry word, associated mostly w/ school math concepts.
Divine is something sublime, eternal, beyond the ordinary, practical world; "proportion" is sounds more like perfection - in just the right proportion - not an ugly, dry word like "ratio".

Here is what I was talkign about....

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
The golden ratio is a number, approximately 1.618, that possesses many interesting properties. It was studied by ancient mathematicians due to its frequent appearance in geometry. Shapes defined by the golden ratio have long been considered aesthetically pleasing in western cultures, reflecting nature's balance between symmetry and asymmetry. The ratio is still used frequently in art and design. The golden ratio is also known as the golden mean, golden section, golden number or divine proportion.

I did a little searching on what you were talking about, and I didn't see anything about the Golden Ratio. Basically it is a ratio found in almost everything, from the way seashells form, to the way rabbits reproduce. I am just now reading more about it, but it was also used in some alchemical stuff also.

I also, cannot change the band name without erasing it, and reposting it. I might get around to it one day, but i want to see how high it can go in its charts and sub charts first.

Keep the input coming though, and thanks to everyone who actually took time to listen to it and respond.

It is usually denoted by the Greek letter Φ (phi).

I also think it has something to do with Cabala/Qaballah however you spell it. Or maybe that was the name of the secret order of Pythagoreans.

Even though you didnt find it, that doesnt mean that the order of the golden dawn didnt study it.........the order of the golden dawn is a mish mash or different religons, science, philosophy etc(a little bit of everything, and the golden dawn has alot to do with Cabala.

I loved your post btw, I do alot of reading about Chaos, and Quantum phsyics, the complex stuff Microbes are up to(check my avatar), all of that good shit.

Awsome post, 5 shrooms

Oh,and check out the following books....

Nature loves to hide
Chaos
The Global Brain
Beyond the Quantum
Three roads to quantum gravity
Natures Numbers

(I could go on, and if you are even interested any those, I could point out some other cool books, if that something you like reading about.)

Thanks, I just went to Borders today and got these books: The Biography of Caligula, some carlos casteneda, and a huge book on all the religions use of psilocybin mushrooms. Next time i go and spend a lot of money ill pick up a few of your references. I always check out stuff people tell me about because it has to be interesting enough for you to remember it and bring it up.
BUT! i did do some more research on this Golden Dawn. Apparently Tool has a great affinity for this group and it is somehow linked to Thoth, or the cult of Thoth, which is supposedly this guy who lived for a ridiculously long time, and it is even intertwined in the pythagoreans and epicurians. Quite interesting stuff, but i couldnt find any books directly on it today in Borders. Ill have to search some more.
