Densest strain
    #3661825 - 01/22/05 04:20 AM (11 years, 10 months ago)

I was wondering, out of all the strains avail., which strain is the densest fruit? Thus retaining the most weight when dried.

I hear that Lipa yai grows really short, stubby, heavy, dense fruits. Lipa yai is actually what my casing is of. Theres some myc just barely poking through. Ill have pics in about a week of my first shrooms!

I have an idea for you: SEARCH BUTTON!

Try google too.

density seems to depend more on growing conditions and maybe the substrate, than on the strain.

the densest cubensis mushrooms i've ever seen were some b+ that i grew outside.

There are several strains that tend to be more dense than others.

Do some research.

Good luck!~

That's odd, I was just about to write that I don't know, but it's definitely not B+. The reason I say this is because B+ have a tendency to form hollow stems.

but still the question seemed to be on a wet to dry ratio of density. so the stems would be hollow wet and dry not effecting the weight.

A supposedly dense strain can do a 180 and produce hollow stems the next run, on a slightly different substrate.

you could very well be right.

i was just saying that i think growing conditions make a greater difference than the strain itself. the b+ that i grew outdoors were fatter and denser than any strain i've grown indoors. now, i haven't grown many different strains outdoors, so maybe other strains, when grown outside, will be much denser than b+ turned out.
