Hi,

I too saw this posted elsewhere. Guzm?n also had it online until this summer when he began the rewrite with many new species forthcoming in the newer edition. He took his book off the web.

This original had many errors and mis-spelled words (or Typos) throughout the text.

Hopefully those will all be recorrected in the new version. I am not sure of the release date for the newer book but i will ask Gast?n in a day or so.

have a shroomy day and thanks for putting the url here.

mj

Thank You for the link Anno. Is there any way to save all those 480 images without clicking on each of them to open a full size version and then saving it? I think there were some tools for saving websites, but I have no idea... I would definately want a copy of this for myself.

Hi Concreetfeet,

Guzm?n's The Genus Psilocybe is currently being revised with many new species and corrected English in the edition posted. You might be better off waiting to buyu the newer book. Not sure when it will come ouot.

i do want to note, the original cost $100.00 in 1983. Any used copies will be sold at exhorbitant prices and much of the older book needs to be corrected which is what he is doing now, plus all of the new species since 1983.

The list had expanded immensely./

However, the choice is yours.

I am also not sure of what the publishers of the newer edition are going to charge for the book.

have a shroomy day,

mj

Not yet anno, probably next year.

I know he is just adding my shrooms from Cambodia. The new species I found there is an already known species only previously known of from Bolivia, later Mexico and now from Angkor Wat Cambodia. It is called Psilocybe antioquensis and the paper is by Gast?n Guzm?n, Me and Prakitsin Sihanonth. It will appear in the International Journal of Medicinal Mushrooms with 38 figs.

I also know Guzm?n has many more new species to update.

In the original printing there were more than 500 or so typos and very poor English in much of the text. I offered to review it but he says he has experts. Well he had them also for the first book.

Anyway, We still have three more species of non-active Psilocybes from Southeast Asia to be studied and he has many new species in the herbarium in Xalapa of his own from around the world to add. My other Thai species could possibly be already known species.

So keep asking me or wait until I know something and I will keep everyone informed of the update. I image the book will cost either the same or maybe twice as much as the first.

Not sure. IT belongs to a journal.
