toss or keep?

I think I have problems.

A rye jar looks good mostly (about 60% fluffy white) but there is one dark spot about the size of a nickle, dark brown to black. It is a couple shades darker than the rye and is surrounded almost all the way around by the mycelia. Should I toss that jar, cut that area out when I case (plan to on Saturday)or wait to see if the mycelia overcomes whatever that is?

1 rice jar is almost 100% colonized but has little brown circles appearing in a few places. Primordia or a problem?

Thanks for any advice you can share.

If the black shit is spreading, it will overrun it if you case, so leave it for a week, then if it spreads - put it out in the garden, as it might fruit out there - if it doesnt - chop it out with a sterile knife and case...
