Would you swallow? Nanobots that is.

http://science.howstuffworks.com/nanotechnology.htm
It's amazing to think of the future technological advances! Nanotechnology is going to be the greatest scientific movement in history...and yet...I predict a huge crash...
Can you imagine, no more use for money, just have robots build whatever it is you need: food, house, clothes, condom. Or they could cure cancer by rebuilding the cancer cells. Or stop or reverse aging!
It seems to me that there would be a huge effort by the powers that be to limit these nifty things to the "elite". I truly cant imagine the horrible outcomes of the ability to do WHATEVER you want with these things. Imagine the corrupt political leaders when they had these nanobots in possession- talk about weapons of mass destruction.
The ideal situation of course is that nanobots save us! They solve all world hunger by simply rearranging atoms from trash and waste into food! Build homes for the homeless! Cure up-til-now incurable diseases!
A large part of me hope that nanotechnology doesn't come about. What say you?

I want to be a cyborg, so bring on the nanobots!
I'm betting that by 2030 we will have all sorts of implantable "enhancement" devices. The ones I am most looking forward to are the cognitive enhancers. I'll be one of the first in line to upload my mind into the machine

On Topic: Hell yea I would!
Sorta On Topic: I think that by the time we actually advance that far there will be dangers involved, but with all the new stuff that's being explored in physics you won't have to worry about corrupt politicians and shit. Just go live somewhere else, like space . Zero Point energy, manipulation of gravity and inertia, and the new forms of matter being discovered (those 2 types of condensates that are super-conductors or something). Crazy shit...
You guys ever read about all those nano artifacts they found in Russia, they are like 100k years old and resemble Nano Technology that we are only starting to indulge in, crazy shit.

I certainly understand the desire to put your brain into a machine, I want to live forever and however I want.
I want to have a nanobot protected force field around my commune so that it cant be invaded by THEM and then be able to use the nanobots as I see fit.
Have you seen eXistenZ? Great flick about simulations..a little corney but a really interesting perspective.

No! That is awesome! I would really like to check that out. Do you have anymore information on that?

YES! Everyone could have their own nano army to protect against the evil nanobots that the goverment creates to control us... Like have them patrolling the outside of your body, and then the inside as well. Then I can have my own little nano-factory on my coffee table. Make me some nice green bud my little nano slaves...lmao
http://ufologie.net/htm/ancural.htm They have found A LOT of these little things. I read somewhere that skeptics said they were light bulb filaments. I highly doubt that, even though im no expert. Light bulb filaments aren't that small. Also, the Russians have made up shit before about UFO's and crap, but Russia isn't the only country studying the artifacts, other countries have concluded that they are in fact real. Crazy shit, WE AREN"T ALONE...

I was reading a little bit about time travel today. It is so hard for me to imagine time as something to be manipulated but it can be. Im sure you've heard of the two stopwatches- one in a jet and one on earth and the jet pilot actually aged less (time was slower) than on earth while it was in flight. Time slows the closet to the speed of light one gets.
Anyway, I also read about "wormholes" and how it is theoretically possible to see into the future/past. I bet that time travel will one day be figured out. And perhaps that is where some of these strange artifacts come from...if not from aliens.
I found a site that has some examples too: http://ufologie.net/htm/ancural.htm
Quite interesting!

Yea, physics is crazy shit. They did an experiment with highly precise saphire clocks. One in space and one on earth, it showed how time was reletive to velocity. It's also effected by gravity and shit too. I wonder how time would work if you weren't moving at all. Such as no spin from the earths rotation, and its orbit around the sun, and no rotation from the galaxy, and the galaxy was completely still as well. Maybe it would move infinitely fast, kinda how the universe shrinks infinitely small when at the speed of light, only reversed.
That's the same site I posted...I also thought about tthe artifacts coming from us as well, in the future. I like the idea of aliens though .

They'd be more likely to change all the pot molecules to bibles.

This is what I read over today. I have recently discovered Howstuffworks.com and how excellent it is! I have just been typing in topics and getting a brief rundown of what it is or how it works.

They arrange the molecules to look like little bibles, little did they know.... The mini bible molecules activate some weird unknown receptor in the brain. Ends up being the best mind altering substance ever

Technology is good, "some" people use it for evil though. Thats what I think. If you just chill with your friends and your nanobots then you aren't hurting anything. If you have your nanobots manufacture smallpox then it is you that needs to be eradicated.
My nanobots are used only for my benefit, not for the downfall of other people. They also defend me against the evil nanobots. This is all hypothetical of course.

man you read that link fast. seriously, if you read the whole thing, he makes some very interesting points about how we're about to get fucked over by technology

Ha! Well said. Technology isn't the bad guy, though we need to be careful. It could easily become the bad guy when we make them "Guys" or A.I.'s. I definitely think we should put some limitations on the computing ability of AI or else we may become obsolete.
We humans are such pitiful creatures. So fragile, so self-destructive...I suppose we're smart though. Almost too smart for our own good.
My friends and I are on a quest to become UBER HUMAN! It's been quite a task but it is working out pretty well. Hopefully I will be able to stand my own against AI, Aliens, Time travelers, nanobots and Bush.

Nah, I didn't read it all. Those are just my own opinions about technology. I read that Unibomber shit a while ago, well about 2/3 of it. I just think it's the goverment and crazy ass people who need to wake the hell up before they blow us the hell up.
