WTF? Is this normal?

Hi all,

First let me say thanks for the advice thus far. This site has been a great help to a newbie like me.

Is this normal? My shrooms seem to go from pinheads just poking through the casing to fully shriveled stems in the span of about 14 hours. (from the time I close my office to the next morning) Several times I have come in and had stems with what appear to be nothing more than spores clinging to the side of the container.

Is there any use of eating the stems in this condition?
Is there any way to slow down this growth cycle?

Yes you can eat those aborts. This is usually caused by too much humidity and/or not enuf fresh air.

What strain are you using? I'm using PF classic and my jars colonize in a flash, but the vast majority of the shrooms I get are these little abhorts. I hear this is typical of PF classic.
