anyone seen this movie or watched any parts of it while tripping on LSD?
it blew my mind, on a multitude of levels, that I simply cannot describe...I was hoping someone else could share their experience and hopefully help me put to words what it was I felt.

Hahaha wow I think you may have discovered something I would expect everyone would think of but haven't. Thanks for a great idea I will have to find that movie and watch it for my next trip!

I made a CD for a crazy hookah session in my friend's van. I put the oompah loompah song as like the last song. The "oompa" "loompa" "doopity-do" was jumping from speaker to speaker and completely bugged me out.
Seeing the movie tripping must be an experience

thats exactly it... I'm always pointing out things and noticing things in life, saying "wow thats pretty trippy" or whatever, you know what I mean, but Willy Wonka, strangely, has never struck me in a "trippy" way, although I'm sure it did to many people when it came out, when I first saw it, I was probably 6 or 7, and seeing it so many times afterwards kind of shielded it I think from any implications of a "trippy" movie that could have other meanings or ideas I hadn't already figured out...its a movie I've seen countless times since I was a child, I could recite lines from it like nothing, yet watching it on LSD was like watching an entirely different movie, like seeing beneath the surface of everything, and finally taking a peak at what maybe the director had intended all along.
the movie has an incredible number of subtle messages and things I've never even thought twice about considering, and then they all came crashing to me at once, I found myself rewinding clips a few times.
I would highly recommend it (especially the scene with the Bubbles...I can't find any reports of anyone other than myself seeing this, but the bubbles seemed to turn into pink and blue dice by some miracle of illusion which I cannot describe, and the one of the main concepts portrayed in this scene was that you would be "rolling the dice" by taking a swig of the much-too-strong bubble potion...coincidence? maybe...but I suspect theres even more to this movie than the makers have ever admitted, to give it that magical element of surprise and wonder that represents Wonka...simply mind blowing)

I've watched it tripping...I can't believe there are so many who haven't!!! But I think I've seen most of my favorite movies while on acid, so it wasn't like I planned specifically to watch Willy Wonka. I liked it a lot, probably because I'd seen it so many times. One movie that sucked while I was tripping was The Matrix. I saw that in the theater after taking a few tabs, and could NOT understand what was happening. I just wasn't able to comprehend what was going on, and ended up getting frustruated. I only stayed for the sake of my friends.
So, in summary, Willy Wonka + LSD= good times!

If you line the Willy Wonka movie up with Tools Laturalus album so that the line "And turn these leaden grudges into gold" lines up 'gold' where he wins the ticket, you will be blown away duude.

I have not read the books, but have read a bit about them, I think although Gene Wilder represents more of a silly man than a dark character to the untrained viewer, it may be intentional that his seemingly careless attitude supersedes a darker inner self...akin to the realization that on LSD you are full of life and joy, but beneath the skin is still the same DNA that will turn you back into what you really are after the magic is gone...I think Gene Wilder might have turned into that dark character had he left his factory
As a child Gene Wilder struck me as somewhat of a stern man in the movie though, especially when he went whipping his cane down the stairs, almost nailing the children, and at the end when he flips out on Charlie and Granpda Joe, just to mention a couple of instances where his "dark" side is truly revealed.
basically my point is that to a child's point of view, or to someone on acid, Gene Wilder could very well be the dark character portrayed in the book, but I haven't read it so its hard for me to make that conclusion. and of course there are parts where Gene just makes you laugh, like in the dark tunnel where he squeels after singing the song, a moment of pure hell (for the riders) and pure ecstasy for him, having experienced the boat many times, these two intense feelings contradict each other, yet while tripping on acid, it is often apparent that one can feel such contradicting feelings simultaneously...the movie confuses the viewer, and so does the acid.
I'll keep posting more similarities as they occur to me
