dumb, but might be useful

k, i've been struggling trying to keep temperature in the 80-85? range... today my parents made me go get something out of our attic, while the rest of our house was a comfortable 72? the attic seemed warmer, i had the idea... dark warm place... why not start jars, even grow up there, so i left a thermometer up there for like 15 minutes, when i went back up, it read 86?... i dont know about other houses, but i think my attic is going to be my new place even though it's a little dirty, i can do the sterile stuff in my room and just leave them up there... thought i'd post this in case anyone else's house is like this

that's fine if the temp is 86 for the 15 minutes you had it up there but was that a bright sunny day???? I know that my house gets plenty friggin hot on bright sunny days I ould hate for my kids to be up there toasting and drying out!
