Your title proves it...

I'd just rename it to "I experience, therefore I am"

I can not prove it to you, only to myself. You can not experience my experiencing.

Its fun to think youre whole life could just be a big drug trip and when you die is when the trip ends and it turns out you are something far more complex and supreme than a human and you were just tripping on some hardcore drug unknown to this side of the universe.

I think I've come to a stage where I think it doesn't matter much to me, because it's how I exist that's important, not where I exist and what is real and what is not.

Imagine, dying like this; death is exactlty like tripping, and you break all the way through, into another dimension, another body, another life ect.....AND you remember everything about your past life and death. Now that would be a mind-fuck.

I think, therefore I think I am

That's the farthest truth we're going to reach, and if we do not even think we are, then we have lost that. What does it matter?

Well, it seems to be the basis for all logical arguments. And aren't those what this forum is about? :smirk:

I think Descartes nicely proves our own existence with this argument, but I dont like how he follows that God does exist. (I cant remember the actual argument, only that it is stupid)

The complete proof of God is something like:

- I have the concept of God in me.
- Everything is caused by something equally or less perfect.
- Therefore, if God (that which is most perfect) does not exist, it is a contradiction in terms - an existing perfect being is more perfect than a non-existant one.
- Therefore, God exists.

Logically sound, but the premise (everything is caused by something equally or less perfect) might be flawed.

a lot of God here tonight (today, whatever)

anyways, the bible?
its saying something like, "and God, created [Hu]Man, in his own image"
(according to my viage memory from 'Christianity class')

so, does this not, say, that looking at Man, is looking at God?

he he. Fly high and soar low, the beat of rhythm, are begin, to Glow.

I also think Descartes' "ontological" argument for the existence of God is weak. I don't remember it very well, but it had to do with thoughts about the infinite. If these thoughts are in our finite minds, then an infinite being must have placed them there as innate ideas, because a finite mind could never conceive of the infinite without some help.

I like St. Anselm's ontological argument better.

He begins by saying that God is "That than which nothing greater can be Thought." He is the most perfect thing conceivable.

He goes on to say that even the fool will admit that God exists as a concept in the mind of one who consideres that than which nothing greater can be thought.

Then he makes his proof, which I think is genius.

If God were to only exist in the mind and not in actuality, then God would not be that than which nothing greater can be thought, because it is possible to think of a God which exists in actuality as well as in the mind as a concept, and an actually existing God would be greater than one who existed only in the mind.

Therefore God must exist in actuality as well as in the mind.

We are part of God's image. Perhaps that's what Jesus meant, in a Taoist perspective we are God's image, along with everything else that is part of the Tao

There is a lot going on, this goes a lot deeper than any words can describe, but to shorten it up; God is love, pleasure, happiness, compassion, tolerence, hope, ect, ect. Satan is hate, pain, hopelessness, intolerence, ect, ect. There is some of both in all of us, but many people lean in one direction or the other. Unfortunately Satan has the upper hand these days......but that can be changed.  This life/world/universe is merely one representation of something that is happening on many planes of existence, merely a tiny piece of a huge, beyond all scope, picture. There are many, many higher powers at work here, not just God and the devil.
