Texas Strain

I was given a free syringe of Texas Strain for a sponsor. I have tried the PF TEK method and used Perlite for moisture and they did not grow.... I searched the Message Board and came across www.ralphstersspores.com and they actually had a picture and some description. PLEASE TELL ME IF THIS IS ACCURATE...
Texas
Nice super dense fruits. Small but firm, tissue contains much less water than any cubie I've seen. They don't shrink much upon drying an are hard as a rock when dry. Prolific fruiter and sensitive to light (will fruit with little to no light exposure). Great invitro strain. Average to dark spore depositor. Get ready for a speedy rush while studying this one. (provided by www.ralphstersspores.com)
Has anyone had success with this strain. With what method? And how much light and moisture?

Yes, with rye grain. Here is the tek used
Yeah it is a good strain. I found them to grow like the Gulf Coast strain but now thinking that they are from Texas there is a good chance they may be gulf coast.

I ordered a strain of texans today, but I was thinking that you could do a simple pf tek to cultivate them. I hope that I still can. If they do not work then I have my GTs and B+ to fall back on.

You certainly can grow them with PF cakes. The problem was you, not the strain.

ITS NOT ME. THE STRAIN IS NEW TO ME... I've tried PF TEK ratio 2:1:1 Vermiculite: BRF: H20 - 2 inocs of 3P BUT I've read 3.0-3.5:1:1 in another PFTek. Does anyone have successful pics.

Strain does not matter. Any cubensis strain will grow within a pretty broad range of environmental conditions when compared to other species. Frankly, they are probably the easiest of mushrooms to grow. Each strain is still the same species, and will grow within the normal cubensis conditions and substrates.
Basically, It was you, not the strain...

cubensis is cubensis. it was you. there is some slight variation between strains but for the mosy part they're all the same and grow the same way.

what i was trying to say is , maybe all the spores died or something bad went wrong with the syringe.

If the syringe did not germinate, then that is a different story. The author of this thread stated that "they did not grow". I take that as they did not fruit, since he stated he was using perlite for humidification. This imparts onto me the idea that he at least made it to 100% colonization and was attempting to fruit... Check your conditions. A multi-spore inoculation not fruiting due to bad genetics has never happened in my experience... It is always a mistake by the grower, or contamination... But, I have had an entire multi-spore grow turn out as mutants once, the same sterile mutants on all 3 flushes. The possibility that you have an entire grow consisting of an isolate incapable of fruiting is extremely rare, but it is possible. Just like there is an ever so slight possibility that I will be struck by lightning in the next 5 seconds....

as long as the jars colonized, there was no error on the part of the spore supplier. if they didn't fruit then the grower did not create the conditions necessary for it to happen.

oh , I see what your saying , I wasnt sure if he got them to colonize or not , probably a humidification problem.
