Is a bad fermenting smell a sure sign of contamination? Even if there is healthy mycelium growing and no sign of any other bacteria or mold? (I am refering to corncob as the shit being colonized)

anything that doesn't smell like shrooms is bad. Throw it out!!!

Not really, I'm using the shit sold as animal bedding. I'm trying to follow ThE JafF's "corncob mycelium slurry" article in the grow section.
