oh no - the USA is by no means the only, it's a symptom of a pandemic that is emmanating from thoughtpolice central; thank god someone's looking after us. *phew*

mushrooms in the UK will now thankfully be a thing of the past. Disgusting things - everyone knows God made a mistake there.

I can't understand why a government would go at of their way to further outlaw fungus that harms nobody.

Stock up chaps!

Well scratch that trip to England...

Sorry you guys. I even signed up on multiple petitions just so you guys could still have mushrooms even though I can't in the US.

Seems like us shroomers never get to catch a break. :frown:

I just don't believe that most civil servants think it's a good idea to prohibit mushrooms. When I got arrested for possession of dried shrooms a couple of months ago, the police officer was almost apologetic, he told me that in his eyes, and the eyes of his superiors, it is not a crime worth policing.

Politicians aren't stupid, I just think they're liars. I think they believe that keeping mushrooms legal would be better than making them illegal, but they couldn't convince most of the population of that.

The reply I got from the Home Office about that was,

"In the Government's view, a person would not be committing an offence solely by reason of a naturally occurring substance (the mushroom) growing in their garden.

If necessary, the Government will bring in regulations at the same time as the above Bill provision is commenced to make it clear under what circumstances it will not be unlawful to possess magic mushrooms. This will include having mushrooms growing untended in a garden. It is not an offence under the Misuse of Drugs Act for someone unknowingly to pick a magic mushroom"
