hi i was just starting to think about growing shrooms...
im not a professional in the least bit about growing things
but i think i can do it
is it really hard?
im not sure which guide to use out of this:
http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/23019
but im thinkin either the 2nd or 3rd ones maybe.. but any suggestions would help
because it has pictures and i think it would be easier to follow
i just have a couple questions...
im thinkin of growing them in my summer house which i go to like once every couple of months
my questions are:
1) how long does it take to first start growing them?
2) do i need to do somethin (i.e-water) like once every day/week?
3) how often would i need to pick them?
4) how risky is it to grow shrooms in the first place, for a first timer?
thank so much for any answer(s)

1. depends on strain, your growing conditions, etc. by folling the PF jar method allow 4-6 weeks. 2. do more reading. mushies are different than plants. they don't need to be watered; except for misting during fruiting, which needs to be done a few times a day. you can get around this by getting an automatic setup with a cool mist and ultrasonic humidifier. 3. when they are mature u pick them before they rot.
4. you're 18, so make sure what you choose to do doesn't harm anybody else. i.e. parents, roommates, etc.

Go with the link you have to start out with...its the simplest/easiest to not ferk up.
1)If you mean long as in duration of time till you get fruits, can range from 1 - 2 months and continue lasting longer thru additional flushes, dependent on factors like your care, set-up, methods, experience, ect.
2)These aren't like a typical vegetative plant, the closest aspect of 'watering' is done in the form of misting during key parts of your grow...but you will need to read days and hours more to understand the jist of it all.
3)You pick them when they grow and you want them =P my prefence would be to pick after the undercap veil breaks free, but you'll learn more bout that too if u spend time researching the archives/faqs.
4)It's just as risky for anyone, although someone who is more experienced in growing might have better precautions. You can learn bout optimal/covert ways to grow if you browse or use the search function on the forums as well.
Good luck =) ~D

after they use up all the nutrients they dont have anymore "food" to consume and grow.

The hardest part for me was getting all the suplies together.
Once you have all your stuff the hardest part is making a clean room for injecting the spores. This is MOST important. Keeping contams out is the trick to this hobby.

ya, just dry them with a small tabletop fan or something. Then to get thath last bit of moisture out, (to preserve them as long as possible) put them in a tupperware container with some desiccant which will suck any remaining moisture out of them.
