Is there any difference between 1/2 pint and 1 pint mason jars?

It would only cost a couple bucks more to up the size from 1/2 pint to 1 pint jars. Is there any reason why the 1/2 pint jars are that much better for cakes than 1 pint jars, or is it simply a matter of space?

2 weeks to colonize 1/2 pints...3-4 to colonize pints. Thats why 1/2 pints are usually use. You can use pints though...especially if you keep optimum conditions and use liquid cultures..

One's a pint and the other's only half ?
Heh, just kidding....Scat's right....
I use my 1/2pints for cakes, my pints for casing, and my 12oz jars for g2g...

Thanks for the tips, guys.
I decided to just go with the 1 pint jars. This is going to be my first attempt and I'd like to move on to casing if I'm successful with the cakes.
I'm looking at probably buying an 8 pack of GT from TLG since they're so cheap right now.. though it leads me to believe that there's a reason why they're so cheap..

You missed out.
It's now Creeper 8 for $36 and the reason it's so cheap is because I decided I wanted to sell them that cheap.
After Creeper is done, I'll probably sell another one cheap......
I do because I can.

Ive worked with GT, not creeper yet (though I have a syringe that came from a print that came from a syringe from TLG), but from what I've seen of others creeper stuff and my experiences with GT, Creeper would be the better buy anyway.

Yeah, I just noticed.
That's alright, though. I'll check out some of the Creeper strain and see how they treat me.
Browsing around the board, I noticed that one guy on his first grow produced 8 dry grams from a Creeper syringe you sold him.
How often do you usually change your specials?
