Distorted sound.
    #3645128 - 01/18/05 09:17 PM (13 years, 4 months ago)

I keep hearing little distortions (sounds like a bleep, but not quite) while watching movies or playing audio on my pc. This only happens about 5 or 6 times an hour, but it is very annoying. I can't figure out what it is. I think it may have something to do with system resources (irqs etc), but I'm not sure. I have a fairly loaded down PC. I am running off of the onboard nforce2 sound (I had an audigy2 that didn't do this, but it just burned out). I also have a ton of other hardware and I really think it may be an irq problem. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? It happens in windows but never in linux if that helps anyone's diagnosis. I even just did a total reinstall of windows xp pro and that didn't help. Any ideas?

Could be cell phone interference or some other type of interference. A few seconds before my phone rings i always get some strange beep like sounds from my speakers. Although sometimes it will happen without my cell going off so that could be your problem.

Also i used to get some really bad sound distortions frequently off my SB audigy card that would last for 10 seconds to a couple minutes and then suddenly it stopped happening and it has been fine ever since.

I'm a nihilist. Lets be friends.
