Well.. This is my 1st flush of Thai Koh Samui..
they started sprouting out @ 3 days ago.. and are AMAZING.
They are growing in a 15lb DB kit.. outside in the shade in a VERY
NICE environment [ plenty o' shrooms in the pastures ] ..
Anyway.. there are tons of clusters around the edges w/ 10-15 shrooms
growing out of them.. and plenty sprouting in the middle.
I need to get a Digi Cam to show you guys.. I'll borrow one tommorow.
Does anyone know of a good one to buy? < $350.
Well.. I vouch for the DB Kit.. despite the cost.. it is GREAT, and I'll
continue to promote & use it.
Look forward to some pics in a lil' bit..

Hey dude, what up ?
to answer your question about the digicam, if i were you i would consider a digital camcorder, the price is not that much over 350 (save your pennies the price is gonna come down shortley) and you can use it as a still camera as well.
More bang for the buck ! just mho

oh by the way excellent picture quality as well plus you can get a more powerful zoom !

Good for you! I just have a quick question: what's the temperature you're growing in?
A bud of mine will be getting some Lipa Yai's, which I hear are very similar to Koh Samui, and if my friend needs to get the temperature above 70 or so he'll have to get some extra equipment...which he'd rather avoid.

OK.. WOW: Large Post..
Anyway.. Can you guys please help me answer the following questions.
A) When Should I pick my caps?
... I see that a lot of shrooms have opened, but there are still shrooms on the same cluster that have not.
Aa) Are you supposed to pick the whole cluster of shrooms [ they look attatched at base ]?
Ab) Will the shrooms become much larger?
Ac) How is the potency Effected?
B) Do you notice those shrooms upside-down pointed out by the arrows? What should I do with them? They're kida making me nervous...
C) There are TONS of little ass pins everywhere... you can see some in the closeup shot. Will these mature or "abort".. if they "abort/never grow" do I need to remove them ??

Aa) Yes - you don't want the open caps to drop spores all over - it can suffocate your kit.
Ab) Not after they open their caps
Ac) You will not be able to tell
B) Eat them
C) If they stop growing and start turning dark - pick them. Eat these too!

Alright... I picked 2 of the more mature colonies. They're taking up 2 whole grocery bags drying!! looks > 1 oz dry.. SHIT!
ANyway.. what should I do about the exposed area I left [ someone was talking about a "fork" ] in the DB kit ... let me know the process.
Thanks Guys [ I wish I had that digi to show you what those clusters looked like in my hand.. I'll prolly have 1 for the 2nd flush! ]

Completely mellow.. yet real intense.. you come off of it feeling great.

Hey..
Can ANYONE describe to me what to do once I have picked my crop?
should I leave the kit alone? Go stick it in the dark? Use a fork to do something with it ?
there is a black cover of spores over the top also, that cool?

i think you should mist it to rehydrate it a bit...
and those black spores really shouldn't be there, because you should have picked the shrooms right after the veil tore away... You let yours open up. I don't think those spores will be a problem, I'm not sure though.

If it looks dry give it a good misting with some bottled water and keep the light cycle going 12/12. Congratulations on a beautiful harvest. Glad to hear you enjoyed the Koh Samui. I have some that I have been waiting to sample.They look delicious.
The spores shouldn't be a problem.
