We had some here at the SporeLab but are now sold out.
One of my customers says he got very, very sick off jlf's. It didn't even sound like the right ones.
I suggest you get out in the woods and start looking. It's little early where I live but when they are poppin' they are not that hard to find if they grow in your area. The patches are usally large. Look around the edges of forest land, in amongst birch esp.
And do some research on proper methods of preperation and drying. I reccomend less than 10g. dried skin of the cap for your first trip.

Prolly earlier than that. Last year I was picking them in mid August in northern BC and with the rain we've been getting in Vancouver this past week, I wouldn't be surprised to find some any day now in southern BC!

Just keep checking back, if they grow in your area they will prolly show themselves this month.
Are you near Edmonton or Calgary? There must be a mycological society in both those cities. Check it out!

They also like spruce, fir and aspen and others. They also grow near Boletus edulus, a prime edible. Hunters of this mushroom will often seek out the big patches of Amanita to help lead them to the Bolete.

I suggest you join your local myco society but don't dwell on the magic mushrooms. Show an interest in everything and you will be accepted, then you can hint around for the good info!
I would say a good rainfall will produce the first flush. Then they will be up rain or shine for at least a couple weeks or more.

at first i couldn't find one here, checked ph book but then checked the good old net, and apparently we have one at the UofA, so since i'm gonna be there for the next few yrs might as well join, its even cheaper for students.
i 'll try emailing em for more info or i'll just drop by, anyways thanx Capt.
