weak, scrawny mycelium!

Okay, good news first--injected fourteen half-pint jars a bit more than a week ago, and put 'em in an incubator at 82 degrees; all showing signs of growth at or around the places where the syringe went, with no signs of contamination (funny smells, colors).

But while some jars look like they've got little cotton balls pressing against the glass, a majority of the jars have very slow-growing, stringy mycelium that barely covers the substrate (rye flour and vermiculite). It just looks...weak, unhealthy. Any chances of the mycelium "bulking up" and taking on that fluffy, cloudlike appearance, or should I throw out these jars and begin another batch?
Sorry I don't have any pictures...I should prbably invest in a digital camera sometime... And BTW, thanks for everyone's advice a while back on Ecuadorian cubensis.

Peace!

You dont want clouds anyway, you want ropes. Just let them colonize fully and if they are white...they are good...if they are other colors (with the exception of a little yellowish brown) they are probably bad. Mycelium is mycelium though and if thats what it is, it will all fruit mushrooms.

everyone please buy a digital camera. One of those cheap ones if you have to. Posts are a lot better when people add pics. It shows you really need the help, too.
