I recently took up growing mushrooms and was happy to harvest my first batch a few weeks ago. I grew Golden Teacher strain of P. Cubensis. Now the next logical step was tripping for the first time right? Damn right!

However, I was very disappointed in my first trip as I didn't take very many, like 7 tiny dried shrooms (first flush was really tiny) SO, the next time I took a lot, a whole lot, I had a golfball size wad of chewed up shrooms in my mouth, and about 2 hours later, I was sitting outside reality, but still in full control it seemed. What do you think could be the cause of this? I grew them using the MMGG technique down to the T, how can I increase the potency of these suckas? Or is it just the strain?

Well, tell me a few things first. How tall are you and how much do you weigh? Also, you may have a really fast metabolism. I took 6 fresh shrooms of either Amazonian strain or the old Stropharia Cubensis, it has some new name now. Anyway, it did nothing, so the next day I took 6 little shrroms and 7 big shrooms that were about 8" tall and they kicked my ass. I have always had to take massive amounts of shrooms to get high, but sometimes no matter how many shrooms you take, the strain just sucks. Sorry man, just keep trying! If I think of anything else, I'll get back to you. Good Luck!

hmmm I do have a pretty high metabolism. I'm 5'9" 160lbs. I hope it's not the strain. Thanks for the post Stank :) Perhaps these tazzy's will whoop up.

just take more, a golfball size is just a little more than and eight, i think? prolly less. the secong time i did shrooms i had a mound that toppled about 1/2 inch over my hands that were cuped together (a little more than a handful) and i got what i wanted from shrooms. thats all im going to say about it. i think the problem with all you trippers is that you come to the shroomery and read all these trip reports that are just bullshit and cant experience a trip without evaluating every aspect.

increasing potency, very difficult, and cost to benefit ratio may not be worth it.

that being said, there are a lot of things that can decrease potency. #1 on the list is the drying process if employed. #2 would be if you had food in your stomach at the time. there are things in the growing process, like if sugar content in the substrate is to high. there are to many to list.

keep to the published teks, until you have perfected them. only then, experiment on new ideas.

Your best bet is to always weigh out your dose before taking the leap. Taking too much can be unpleasant. Anyway, you've got nothing to prove -- try 2 dry grams or 3 at most.

Just my two cents. Hook up with a postal scale. They are more accurate than most people think.
