Mescaline Nausea
    #3643449 - 01/18/05 03:19 PM (12 years, 6 days ago)

I've been wondering if nausea is inherent to mescaline or if it's just the Pedro tea or eating the Peyote that causes it. Does synthetic mescaline produce any amount of nausea? The only time I've heard of someone taking synth mescaline is in Huxley's The Doors of Perception and I don't recall him mentioning any nausea.

Nausea is a product of the plant material and cactus alkaloids. Pure mescaline does not produce much nausea, and boiled down dried Peruvian Torch (which is closest to pure mescaline) doesn't make me feel very sick unless I have to drink alot. Peyote is really bad because it has tons of very powerful alkaloids and people eat it raw.

"Pure mescaline should be taken in two half-doses about 30 minutes apart. This will minimize disturbance of the stomach, which usually passes after the first couple hours of the high."

From the dosage and preperation section of http://www.erowid.org/library/books_online/essential_psychedelic_guide/mescaline.shtml

Does anybody have experience with extracted (to a powder or crystal) or synthetic mescaline?

I stand corrected. However, from my knowledge pure mescaline causes much less nausea than San Pedro, and way less than Peyote. I think the dose staggering has to do with the chemical hitting your system.

Pedro crystal extract produced mild nausea on the come-up. Not more intense or unbearable than shroom nausea, but longer lasting. It subsided before the real trip started (which was around T+3h), though.

Mescaline causes some nausea by itself (even the old pure pharm mesc), but the cactus has plenty of strong emetics that produce severe nausea.

An a/b gets rid of most of them as far as i know.

I've made San Pedro tea twice, both times felt a bit of nausea, but nothing serious at all. and I HATE nausea and have a relatively weak stomach. I don't even worry Pedro nausea anymore, its just a slight stomach discomfort that comes and goes before the trip happens.

Well a friend and I drank Pedro tea two days ago. It was less juice than previous times, and more mescaline, and the nausea was worse. He puked and I was really uncomfortable for a couple hours. But since we're going to extract DMT soon we might as well move onto mescaline too.
