Its been 6 days since inoculation. Im using the brow rice method in quart jars. No growth to be seen, could it be that the temp in my room is from 61 to 74 degress depending on time of day? Or did i inoculate them too soon. Jars were still warm but not hot.

If you innoc'ed with spores... wait...be PATIENT. 6 days isnt much. You may have to wait 10 - 12 before you see any germination & growth.
Constant 80 / 85F is whats needed for incubation. Try to do that.
Jars Warm to your touch could be well over 100F. Jars should be room to 85F when innoc'ed.

It can take up to two weeks for the spores to germ and that is with the correct temps. With temps at 12 to 25 degrees to low it may take longer.

With temps that low dont be surprised for it to take 20-30 days to see growth. Find a spot with a MINIMUM temp of 74 and keep them there. Anything in the 60s is basically stalling growth. It took me 15 days in 75? to see ANYTHING. stay patient and buy a little heater or something

I put it right in front of my heat vent and now temp is from 80- 85 degrees, i think that should help things. I also covered them in blankets to keep the air from drying them out.

one problem i could see with them being right in front of a vent is the possibility of contams. just a thought.

I have growth starting. I have the jars shielded by two layers of blankets, i hoping this will help keep contams out, but hey, its my only choice right now for heat, so ill just have to see how it goes.

I hope that you washed the blankets really good.
Glad to see that you got your growth started.
Good luck!~
