Because too many people are so enveloped in the past or the future that they forget to stop and observe things how they really are.

The now has slipped beneath my feet,
each moment is new, fresh, unique!
The now is never here to catch,
Its gone the moment you light the match.

Where is this now from where your at?
The mouse has turned to chase the cat,
But nowhere in my sight is he,
The now has been forever ME!

he he!

Come to the now? How can you miss it?

It's the only existence we know, after all. What other place would we reside in?

I keep reading this post header and all I see is that old travel comercial with the big black woman saying,

"Come to jamica"

Seriousy, some run from the past, some chase the future, some dwell in the past and resist the future, what is this dance with time and avoidance of being in the now?

How does it serve us? What within our evolution is the benefit of human nature to be anywhere but right here right now?

There is no Now. If you look for it you can never find it. And the past and future are even more intangible. I don't think there is Time at all.

Thanks for sharing that as I agree with cuz, I don't get this now stuff in experience, it just sounds good in theory.

The minute i think to myself, Now, it is already a new now, you can not capture it, nor the past, nor the future, why???? because like you said, it is a no thing, it doesn't exist.

Time is like an illusive phantom, go ahead and try to grab the past, your hand will pass right through it like its a ghost. Go ahead and grab the future, it will pass right through you and on into the past, like a ghost as well, time is such an apparition. grab this moemnt and ooops there it slipped off into the past just that fast.

Sort of funny. So, if time is an illusive phantom that cannot be grasped or held or captured in essense, what are moments made of?

There is time. It exists as a dimension, which is integrally tied to space, making what physics calls space-time. The way we experience time is very different from the way it actually works, but that does not negate its existence.

Yeah, it's just the X axis, so to speak. I kind of think that as we experience time there is only one moment EVER, it's the same one but it's always changing it's shape and form. So you can't percieve it or measure it by any arbitrary "moment" that becomes manifest, only as the fluid continuim itself.

You cannot grasp time because your view of time is different from the actual nature of time. You can't stop movement and look around right now, because by then it will be the next moment. Yet it is still the now. If you try to grab one moment, then you will be left trying to stretch your mind into an illusion of a point, but if you realize that all points exist in the now, and just relax and realize you can never grab illusions, then the now opens itself up to you.

You have always lived in the now, and will always live in the now. Past and future are human illusions. Where is the past now? It is in the now, in our consciousness, along with the future. Time is unity, it is only the ego that tries to break it up into illusions.

I hear ya, thats new age now talk thats been around for years and you can experience what you are saying, however, even that idea and experience of the eternal now, is an ego illusion. Go beyond IT and there is yet, MORE.

Let this dawn on you. The eternal now can be realised as you say only now is relative and even the subject of the objective is a phantom.

The you experiencing the eternal now is you in the past projecting a future. The you in the now experiencing this eternal moment is you in the futre, dweling in a past. YOU are the phantom in time. Trip on that time traveller!

Now, is the time it takes for no time.

Now, is where past leav you, and future comes to you, right in between.

Now, is what it was.

Now, becomes what it is.

You [Are] Now. Now [Are] you.
