i want to know how long it takes for the mycelium to re-do its community after you crumple it up and throw it in a loaf pan with some verm on the top and bottom (casing) basically, my question is how long does it take for the mycelium to re-generate, after you crumple them up and case. i know that mycelium starts popping up in about two days, but that doesnt mean that it is re-generated. does the mycelium even re-generate? or am i just wasting mycelium making a nice 2 inch thick layer of substrate? do the shrooms just pop out of the small chuncks of mycelium? or does the mycelium form another "cake like" fixture, but with a casing layer on top of it? i want to make sure that im not wasting preciouse mycelium.
i may, fucking drop something natural somewhere and it might grow into another piece of shit like you. i dont recognize any of you fucking people, youre not real, you came out of comic books.

The mycelium will regroup and form a cake like structure if the pieces are closely packed. It takes anywhere from 2 to 5 days depending on temperature and moisture content of the cake (cakes that have already fruited as a cake prior to being crumbled and cased will take a little longer). Definately not a waste of mycelium. Greatly increases yeilds over pf style cakes.

You're definitely not wasting mycelium here. In fact, many growers use this same exact method time and time again. It will take up to ten days for a healthy mycelial network to establish itself within the casing layer, though depending on what your growing conditions are, it could happen sooner than that. Make sure to cover mycelium that pops through the casing layer early with extra casing to promote even flushes. You want the mycelium to grow as evenly as possible since you'll get a larger total yield that way.
