For pinning, too low humidity will harm pinset, or result in no pins at all if too low. For fruiting, low humidity can give you split caps. That's all I've seen.

Condensation has to do with TEMPERATURE fluctuations, not HUMIDITY. You're fine.

You get condensation from a combination of;
High humidity.
High temperature delta from inside to outside.

Put your arm down into the tub. You will be able to feel it if the humidity is nice and high.

To raise the humidity, lower the water level. That exposes more wet lava rock.

I dont use a humidifier, and my shit is fine. 4" of perlite, 3" of h2o, and I spray the inside of my container a few times a day. It works for me.

It doesnt matter when it comes to humidity, you want to use cool/room temp water when misting.

"im pretty sure im not getting my humidity high enough i am using perlite. What can i do to get my humidity higher. Its been 5 days and i got no pins... how long till my cake wont pin at all ? how much do humidifiers cost ? "

I'm pretty sure your being impatient and your humidity is plenty high enough. Pins will often take more then 5 days, especially on casings, and especially if initation wasnt properly timed. After 2 weeks THEN you start worrying. Until then, keep up air exchange (THIS has to do with pinning, not humidity), light, and make sure the temps are about 74ish (a 10 degree temp drop from incubation). Those are the three pinning triggers and thats what you need to concentrate on.
