I take that as a compliment NOS! What do you consider "good" in my attitude?
Friends friends, I dont have real friends here, but some come as close as they can get to that on a internetforum. Its not my goal either, but sharing and receiving info in a friendly way makes it easier in teh communication and info absorbation. And I must say that the flaming here is rather low! In other forums on teh shroomery though things can get pretty heated.
Ehm the jars, I would not fill them to the lids at all, thats even dangerous for the PC not to mention you, your kithcen, your house, your wallet.. Your PC has a manual hasnt it, there should be mentioned the max waterloading level.
I would say fill the PC untill 1/3 (highest) of teh jar is in the water. Dont know what pressure you cook at but then you should be fine after 90 minutes at normal (10-15) PSI.
NOS goodluck it aint that hard after I fucked upp once or twice I got it, you *must* *feel* .........!!!!
Good luck NOS you are a friendly chap yourself!

NOSSY!
Rye CAN be simmered TOO! WBS can be simmered TOO! Millet can be simmered TOO!
Simmering is for hydrating the grains. After 24 hours soak, no simmer is really needed, IMHO. But if you dont have the patience and only soak for 12 hours, the simmering is a better idea. But a longer soak is good IMHO, cause it wakes up the bad guys in the grains, who then become vulnerable to the heath of the PC.
To which I will them expose to!

IMO rye NEEDS a simmer. Soaking for even 48 hours...then simmer and it will expand another 25% at least before they start to burst...thats a lot of water. WBS or millet though dont really expand much during the simmer after a 24 hour soak.

My rye started sprouting even after 24 hours, @ lower roomtemps 65-72. Only used it once, and simmered it...

Thanks for the guidance everyone. My recent posts may not have made sense since today I re-read and notice some posts that I didn't see here last night.?? Not really important though, just the thank you.
Friend, I'm never looking for "friends" either, just people who I can always count on to go out of their way to help me out quickly, kinda like what happened here. It's been rough getting back into this after the down time I had. But I'm slowly getting my confidence back. Glad this thread took off, maybe it helped some other people too afraid to ask.

Hey NOS
There are plenty (at least 2 ) who always give thrustworthy advice!
Some names of people whos opinion I tend to take very serious: agar, scatman, prisoner, tripn.d (more of an agar guru ), roadkill, shirley knott. Also hyphae and ofcourse Anno but they dont post that much in this forum same is for Magash.
And there are many many more, there is a lot f help here without them I wouldnt have been able to do my FIRST G2G EITHER!!!!!! I did it 3 days ago and it is colonizing fast. I hope to have 4 jars in a few days which I can spawn to poooooooooooooo...

If the jars didn't crack until after you removed them, and just the bottoms...
That usualy translates into... (Cheap jars, and rappid cooling.)
The tray you rested the glass on should have been about 1/2 an inch off the bottom. Throw a metal pot serving grille in there under the tray next time.
The reason you want to keep glass off the bottom is because glass grabs hot metal... which is why you can't PC on a glass top stove, unless you put a cooking ring under it. The glass would have shattered inside if that was your problem.
Next time you cool them down, wait for 12-24 hours with them inside the pot, just block off the steam valve with a q-tip or cotton-ball, to stop room contams from getting in while it decompresses.
Yes, you didn't need to add water after you soaked.
You can still use this grain, 50% into your next batch, if you want to save a dollar. (I would reccomend blending it so it turns into mush, and do it like a BRF TEK.)
You can also get shattering like that if the glasses bang against one another several thousand times... that makes them weak, then they shatter when they get cooled fast, or just when they get cool.
You can make aluminum foil rings around the middle of the jars to stop them from clattering together. (A rolled seporator is fine also.)
